Financial Aid
EMU's tuition is among the lowest in the state of Michigan.
In-State Tuition for Ohio Residents
EMU, located just 45 minutes north of Toledo, automatically charges in-state tuition rates to students from Ohio. EMU’s tuition rates are less than nearly every four-year public university in Ohio.
In-State Scholarship for Non-Michigan and Ohio Residents
Students from outside of Michigan and Ohio who have a 3.0 GPA and either a 20 ACT or 950 SAT (math and verbal only) are eligible for EMU’s National Scholarship Program (NSP), which covers the entire difference between out-state and in-state tuition. Recipients of the NSP are also eligible for other academic scholarships for which they qualify. For more information, visit emich.edu/finaid.
EMU and the Eagle Flight Center are approved by the federal government's Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program. This allows students who quality to use the program for flight training at EMU.
ROTC
Located only five miles from the University of Michigan, EMU is ideally located for those seeking careers as military aviators. Approximately 40% of the NROTC (Navy) and AFROTC (Air Force) students in the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor based units are EMU students, including several aviation flight technology majors. Some NROTC scholarships will even pay for flight training! For more information and to explore ROTC scholarship opportunities, check out these Web sites for NROTC and AFROTC.
