Lansing Capital Regional Airport, KLAN
The new Lansing location offers you a four-year Bachelor of Science degree while you pursue pilot ratings and certificates. The curriculum prepares you for a career as a professional pilot. Study aerodynamics, crew resource management, aviation law, advanced aircraft systems and other advanced aviation topics.
Willow Run Airport, KYIP
The Eastern Michigan University Aviation Program offers bachelor’s degree programs in Aviation Flight Technology, Aviation Management and Dispatch Certification.
Community Learning Programs
In addition to our collegiate program, we offer flight training non-credit programs through what we call Community Learner.
Our Mission
The mission of the Aviation Program at EMU is to provide exceptional flight training, while focusing on safety and customer service. Our purpose is to offer quality programs, technically sophisticated aircraft, outstanding facilities and knowledgeable faculty and flight instructors possessing a wealth of industry expertise. We take pride in the quality of our flight training and our aviation management education.
Flight training and ground instruction courses are based at the nation’s first Cessna Collegiate Center, the Eagle Flight Center, conveniently located at historic Willow Run Airport (KYIP)—only six miles from EMU's campus. All other aviation courses are held on campus in Sill Hall, the home of EMU's College of Technology—School of Technology Studies.
EMU Aviation offers both FAA Part 61 and FAA Part 141 certified flight training programs at the Eagle Flight Center. Read more about the significance of being FAA Part 141 certified and the savings it provides our students.
